This project is rooted in the world I grew up in: purity culture.

Before the photographs, there is a beginning. A short video that sets the tone and opens the space this work comes from.

Faith & Flesh explores how purity culture uses metaphor, ritual, and imagery to shape desire, discipline the body, and produce shame, and how those meanings remain long after the system itself has been left behind.

This video is an entry point into the work, the questions, and the world I am building through it.
